QR Code Generator
Create QR codes for URLs, text, email, phone, SMS, Wi-Fi and contacts, then export PNG or SVG.
QR generation happens entirely in your browser. Your content is never uploaded.
What does a QR code contain?
A QR code stores text. Apps recognise standard prefixes such as mailto:, tel:, Wi-Fi configuration strings and vCards to offer the appropriate action after scanning.
Error correction levels
Higher levels recover from more damage but create a denser code. Level M is a good default. Use Q or H when the code may be printed small or exposed to wear.
Scanning tips
- Keep strong contrast between foreground and background.
- Preserve a quiet margin around all four edges.
- Test the exported image with multiple phones before publishing it.
- Avoid very long content when a short URL is available.
FAQ
Does the QR code expire?
No. The encoded content is permanent; a URL can stop working if its destination changes.
Can anyone read the content?
Yes. QR codes are not encrypted, so do not encode passwords or other secrets.
